FIRST CHIROPRACTIC VISIT
Welcome to Montgomery County Chiropractic Center. As part of your first chiropractic visit, you will first fill out a health history about your condition. This will help the doctor learn more about your past and present condition so that a proper examination can be determined.
What to expect at your first chiropractic visit? Doe you accept Personal Choice PPO Insurance?
We will first check your health insurance to let you know what your coverage is. For example, Personal Choice PPO insurance will cover 60 visits of chiropractic care per year. Once we explain your Personal Choice PPO coverage, we will then make an appointment for a chiropractic examination. Our chiropractor will evaluate your condition by assessing the affected areas and perform range of motion and muscle testing. By doing this, a baseline analysis of your health is achieved.
We can also answer any questions you have at that time about your back pain. Following your exam, the doctor will explain your diagnosis. Additionally, we will explain what types of treatment are appropriate for that condition. Your treatment may consist of chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy and therapeutic exercise. Likewise, we also use types of therapeutic modalities which may help speed up your recovery process.
Following your first visit, it is important to set up a follow up appointment in the next 48-72 hours. This way the doctor can monitor your improvement. We may determine if any changes need to be made for your care plan going forward.
Each care plan set by our office is intended to help you progress as fast as possible, but each Patient and each condition may respond slightly differently. That is why being consistent with your prescribed protocol is essential to your progess, and making sure you complete all phases of your care.
How long will the visit take?
Your initial exam and treatment with our staff could take over an hour, depending on how many questions you have for your doctor to address. Most follow up visits take 30-45 minutes, but this also depends on your specific therapeutic treatment plan which the staff will discuss with you at the end of your first visit.
How will I feel after my chiropractic treatment?
Most people feel relief after their first treatment in some way, but each condition may have varied responses. For some, they can turn better, or there is less spasm. For others, there is less pain, or they can sit/ stand longer following their initial treatment. Since every condition responds slightly different, it is important that you remain consistent with your recommended treatment schedule, and report any changes to your injury to your doctor at each follow up appointment.
